This is the time to have fun dating different boys so you learn by process of trial and error what kind of man is right for you when you are an adult.

Okay, so I'm 16. Last year I dated this guy for about 7 months. Well kind of. Nothing happened between us, but we would hang out all the time, and he told me he liked me. Anyways so last year in about September we just stopped talking. It was really random. No explanation was given. Since then I haven't really talked with any guy or dated any guy because any guy who comes along I always think back to the other one. I always feel like I'm not feeling the same thing I felt with him. Now there's this new guy. He's really nice, funny, and well cute. There's nothing going on yet, were at the interested stage. I don't feel what I felt like with the guy from last year but I think that something might come out of this. Now I don't know if I'm thinking like that because a lot of my friends seem to be all of a sudden finding someone they like and boyfriends. I don't know if I just feel kinda "forced." I really don't know what to do.
I know this is all kinda confusing, but hopefully you can help me out.
Thanks,
Freedom Writer
Try to get the other guy out of your mind so you don't damage your future relationships. If you keep obsessing about the one who got away, you might want to talk to someone about it (professionally).
You are very young. Too young to be taking all of this so seriously. We always look back on our first loves as "ideal" but who knows what would have been if we had stayed with them? Our first loves are an idealized picture we have in our minds, not reality.
Peer pressure is tough, but doing what you want instead of giving in to it helps build character.
They say that honesty is the best policy. So if you are still thinking about this guy just call him or email. Tell him that you really liked him and you just want to know what happened. If you don't you'll always wonder what could have been. Trust me, I know. Don't force yourself to be with someone that don't make you 100% happy because all of your friend have someone. Remember that you are still young and have your whole life ahead of you.
So good luck
Give the new guy a chance and see if anything comes of it. Stop trying to figure out what it is and just go hang out. See what happens. I'll bet it stops feeling forced and you may even have some fun.
